Assists in the duties and responsibilities associated with maintaining cattle, to include but not limited to installing and repairing fences and gates, working cattle from horseback, ATV or on foot, processing and doctoring cattle, infrastructure repair and installation and pasture weed control.
Performs installation, repair and general maintenance of pasture fencing and gates.
Works cattle including moving herds, roundups, branding and medication administration.
Performs pasture maintenance including seeding and control of adverse weed species in the form of mowing, mechanical removal and herbicide application.
Assists with infrastructure maintenance, repair and installation in systems such as plumbing, valve and trough operation and watering systems.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Two years of experience in grooming, saddling, tacking and riding horses (English or Western) required.
Current valid Driver's License with good driving record.
Able to hike in rocky and steep terrain or in overgrown and undeveloped areas.
Able to lift and carry 50-75 pounds.
Able to perform manual labor in outdoor environment with various weather conditions.
Open availability to include weekends and holidays.
Some experience roping is preferred but not required.
One year of experience working cattle including sorting and cutting from horseback preferred.
Some experience hauling a stock trailer or similar preferred.
