Job Telephone Operator II Kaneohe, Hawaii Hours of Monday-Friday, 7:
45 AM 4:
30 PMGeneral Job Receives/places telephone calls as well as routing telephone calls and messages.
Answers routine, non-technical/non-confidential inquiries concerning the hospital.
Refers technical questions to the proper person(s) in the hospital.
Assists and directs visitors at information window to appropriate person/location in the hospital.
Receives and transmits messages to and from Security and hospital staff using radio-telephone.
Receives and relays all emergency calls made to Fire, Police, and Ambulance.
Notifies Administrator and other required persons.
Documents record details on daily log.
Notifies appropriate personnel when alarms sound and contacts alarm system contractor.
Responds to duress/security escort systems alarms by making overhead announcement on public address system following hospital protocols.
Logs date/time and event details.
Functions as after-hours contact for emergency and trouble calls.
Notifies appropriate personnel.
Maintains Hospital Directory, Emergency Phone Tree, and Visitor and Patient Logs.
Issues Personal Mobile Transmitters (PMT) to all persons assigned to HSH.
Receives and distributes all after-hours deliveries.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Education and/or Applicable State laws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to the operation of a telecommunication office.
Prepare reports; deal effectively with people.
Able to operate telephone switchboard, radio-telephone, and standard office machinery (PC, multi-function printer, typewriter, 10-key, and other office equipment).
High School graduate preferred.
